2009 House Bill 1176: Updating the administrative and disciplinary authority of the veterinary board

To reduce the number of licensed veterinarians that serve on the board from 5 to 3 and increase the number of public citizens from 1 to 3. This act also changes the requirement for a licensed member of the board to have an active license. The bill also clarifies that no public citizen on the board may have a financial interest in the rendering of veterinarian services. In addition, the act also clarifies the role of the secretary to the board in rendering decision of discipline. (See also Companion SB 5532).   Official Text and Analysis.
