2009 House Bill 1055: regarding worker documentation for certain construction trades

Requires that certain trades such as those involving construction work in plumbing, electrical or gas piping among others, carry on their person proper documentation of their license status which includes but is not limited to journeyman, trainee, apprentice or contractor. Explains how these requirements should be met for trainee supervision, contractor hiring and bidding. Describes what proper documentation should look like and the penalties for violating these requirements.   Official Text and Analysis.

To require persons performing electrical, plumbing, and conveyance work to have photo identification in their possession. Licenses, certificates, permits, and endorsements (licenses) are permitted, but not required, to include photographs. The Department may adopt rules requiring that such persons wear and visibly display their licenses. The requirements apply when the bill takes effect, rather than after July 1, 2010.
