2021 House Bill 1232: Planning for affordable housing under the growth management act

Requires cities and counties planning under the Growth Management Act to include single-family residences such as detached dwellings, duplexes, triplexes, and townhomes in urban growth areas (UGAs) in the housing element of the comprehensive plan.

Allows counties and cities outside of Clark, King, Kitsap, Pierce, Snohomish, Thurston and Whatcom counties to not be required to comply with provisions related to planning, development, and consideration of duplexes, triplexes, and townhomes within an urban growth area boundary if the county or city adopts findings and provides evidence that current 5 infrastructure with the urban growth area boundary cannot support such development, or that there is little chance that planning period.
