2012 Senate Joint Resolution 8220: Amending the state Constitution to designate English as the official language of the state

Requires the Secretary of State to submit to voters at the next general election an amendment to the Constitution, which declares English as the official language of the state, and requires that all official documents, rules, orders, and other transactions by the state or any subdivisions must be conducted in English. Other languages are allowed when necessary to protect the health, safety, or rights of any citizen.   Official Text and Analysis.
