2011 House Bill 2128: Clarifying the sales tax exemption for local telephone service

Clarifies the current state tax code regarding residential telephone services that are exempt from state taxation. This act specifies that exempt residential telephone services which include only services filed under tariff with the Utilities and Trade Commission, but does not include voice-over-internet phone service or cellular phone service used in lieu of traditional land lines for non-commercial purposes. This act contains a severability clause, a null and void clause, and an emergency clause.   Official Text and Analysis.
