Its all over but the hard to watch signing ceremonies. Big winners are gays, greens, and global warming worshipers. They can all take big high fives. Losers are the taxpayers who were expecting some basic functions, and services of government. We have just witnessed another costly expansion of government that may only benefit a few polar bears. Good government in Olympia is a thing of the past and I no longer expect much from my elected representatives. The initiative process still offers hope but is continually being undermined by underhanded legislation. This session has brought on a law suit. The taxpayers are being sued by Sen. Brown( D Spokane) for passing I-695. No shortage of arrogance in Olympia. Sine Die

I do not know where you get your information. I do know first hand though that you need to get all the facts before you go and make a fool of yourself. There is no such leagal action against the voters for I-695. All I CAN Say is that I am in a position where it is my buisness to know any such activity FIRST HAND!!, and I'm here to tell you that you Sir,or Mam whichever the case may be, know not what you're talking about. These are the kind of RUMORS that keep things stired up. So don't buy trouble where there is none, there is enough going around without buying more.

9) It's not too late - Yet [by Anonymous Citizen on March 4, 2008]
We have to make our voices heard to our representatives in order to stop this bill from passing. To that end, if you have not already done so, please send them your request. Although it is not perfect, I have crafted and sent an email to my Washington State Senator and both Representatives. I am including the text of my email and you are welcome to borrow from it, edit it, or throw it away but please join with me in stopping this kind stupidity.

******Body of text below*****

I urge you to vote no on the following bills since they use the faulty premise that global warming is definitively caused by anthropomorphically (people) generated greenhouse gases. The introduction and passage of these bills can only have the purpose of increasing state tax revenues by relieving people of their hard earned money and their freedoms.

Bills specific to the House:
HB 2420 – Establishing a carbon tax
Seems to be in the House Ecology and Parks committee
HB 2421 – Fossil Fuel Tax
It has been referred to the House Appropriations committee
HB 2425 – Electrical equipment incentive tax
It seems to be in the House Ecology and Parks committee

Bills specific to the Senate:
HB 2815 – Implement various “fees”, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and create “green” collar jobs
Latest update is that it has passed the Senate Ways and Means committee but I am not sure where it goes from there.
HB 1773 – Regarding the implementation of tolls
Latest update is that it has passed the Senate committee on Transportation. - not sure of its status
SB 6923 – Providing for a passenger vehicle greenhouse excise tax (apparently replaces SB 6900)
It has been referred to the Senate Transportation committee – not sure of its status
SB 6900 – Establishing vehicle engine displacement and emissions fees
It has been referred to the Senate Transportation committee – not sure of its status

If any of these bills have been “killed” in committee, please let me know or point me to a website that shows that information as the Washington State Legislature web site does not provide that level of detail.

In short, please stop considering/writing legislation that is based on junk science – the skeptics on this topic are watching, are in the majority, and we vote. To see a sample of the general populace’s opinions regarding this type of legislation, go to the following link and look-up the bills I mention above. http://www.washingtonvotes.org/Legislation.aspx

Since the legislature seems to have overwhelmingly bought into the hype around global warming, I would ask you, my representatives, to educate yourselves and objectively judge the merits of each argument and not just use this "crisis" as an excuse to further the goals of big, socialist government.

11) Now here's the solution [by Anonymous Citizen on March 3, 2008]
This is one good solution to their so called money problem. and it won't cost us the citizens of Wash. a damned dime, and in time it will also put the American worker back to work making American made products. Here it goes you stupid Yuppies. Put a very large tax on all import manufacturers that have taken the product away from us and sent it overseas. This eventually would force then to start manufacturing back here in the states. Holly crap what a concept. American made products, made by Good old American Labor. This would put everyone that wanted to work , back to work, and keep this forign made crap in their homeland where it belongs. I know this seems like it's a little off the beaten track of this licence fee issue, but if you think about it , it really is'nt. Keeping the product and labor to make it here where it belongs, not in some forign country. This will generate more buisness which generates more tax revenue all the way arround. It would be nice to see just about everything we buy carrying the label MADE IN AMERICA one again.

14) Tax and Spend [by Anonymous Citizen on March 1, 2008]
I have noticed any bills that have come up are always tax and spend bills and none other than the West Coast Democrats---maybe they should get a real job and a real life and find out how hard it is to keep your head above the water when everytime you turn around they are taking our money away one way or another. some of these hair-brained ideas that are thought up tells me one thing---you are over paid and not qualified for the job of WE THE PEOPLE.

What is it going to take to get the message across to you we do not want more taxes of any kind and what money you do get from WE THE PEOPLE--spend it sensible where it is for the good of the entire state not just the west side.

RIGHT ON. Very well put. How fast people forget about the New Stadium that we overwhelmingly voted down. BUT NO, these damned democrats could'nt accept that, so what do they do ? They over ride our vote, just like they have done so many times before and implode a perfectly good, not yet paid for Kingdome. How did they pay for this new stadium? You guessed it with our highway tax money, and you better believe it because at the time I was in a position where I knew this first hand. . How stupid, and short of memory do they think we are anyway. There's only one thing that pisses me off more than their damned taxes upon taxes, and that's the fact that they think we're so stupid that we can't see right through their scheming little minds. They just can't get it through their little pea brains, WE'VE HAD IT, NO MORE TAXES PERIOD.

They seen that they were not going to get anywhere with bill 6900, so they introduced this ridiculous damned bill. How stupid do they think we are. It's the same damned bill with a little different wording. I say this to all those over payed, pocket linning, S.O.B's in Olympia. The citizens of this state have had enough of your F--king taxes. Obviously this is an attempt to get back at us for Prop 1. The current over tax of gas has not produced results in 'fixing' the roads so they want more, more, more. This does not address those 'single' drivers that fill the roads every work day but again is the shotgun approach to bring in more cash without thinking it through. Because I took the bus to work for 10 years, I averaged less than 5K a year for my vehicle. Here's a 'THANK YOU' for reducing my driving (and emissions). The bus system works. Improve it and make it more convenient for ALL and that will do more than any lite rail that will take MANY Y

Have you ever in your life had to make ends meet? You have bought into this whole global warming hoax which is your choice but how dare you try and ram it down all of our throats. It is time to vote all of you out of office starting from the top. I just gave a large donation to Dino and I intend to work very hard to get him elected. You can be pretty much assured that these people have NOT spent much IF ANY time working in the private sector trying to make ends meet. It may be a big game to them but I do not see it that way! We need to keep track of these self-righteous idiots and vote them out! Let them work for a living and see how they like it! Better yet, we can review their performance at the end of each year and propose a bill to decide how much of THEIR money they should keep!

So far, global warming is failing to produce. Hello- we have had more snow along with colder weather this year than we have had in 10-20 years!! Just look around, we have a 30year record snow on White pass, 20year record snow on Snowqualme, etc. But yet we will probably pay for it yet again because these politicians will lie to us to get us to believe that we are in a drout this summer- you watch and see. The people spoke when we voted down the gas tax.. but our B!T(H of a governer overturned it. All I can say is we had better replace as many idiots on the hill as we can this November or this kind of stupidity will never end! They should be tax for being stupid!

How can it be our fault when they just keep doing re-counts of the ballots until it comes out in their favor. We did NOT elect that crooked damned govenor we have now. The bi-ch lost 2 out of three re-counts, not to mention the first count, so that makes it one win??? to three losses. And they say they are for the people, YEA RIGHT !!!! How can you even feel good about voteing when in your heart you know it will only come out for the vote of people, so long as they want it that way, and that ain't very often my friends. This is not only on a state level, but on national level also.

I heard that Mt. St. Helens was the biggest contributor to Green house gases for the state of Washington. So how to you solve for that? We all know this is the underlying tax to fund the I-5 corridor and infrastructure for the West side of the state. Get off of the Green House gas issue. It is the latest and greatest political issue to generate revenue from the masses for an issue that is bigger than the state of Washington.

Why do I as a Washington resident have to be fined for the gas emissions of China and India. We as Americans are far more advanced with our current regulations than most of the world. This state and country alone is not going to fix this so called Global warming. When they start paying their share then I may be more inclined to care. Until then leave my check book out of your policies.

40) Another Money Grab [by dwindom on February 7, 2008]
Without getting into the baloney of the whole global warming debate, this bill is yet another tax on the citizens of Washington, introduced by I-5 corridor senators. The bill makes invalid assumptions such as the number of miles driven annually. My farm pickup would be taxed at over $200 when it only travels to town twice a month to pick up feed.

The people of Washigton are taxed enough. I moved here from Montana a little over a year ago and I have been astonished and horrified at the amount of taxes, fees, user taxes and excise taxes and fees I have to pay just to conduct the normal affairs of life.

This bill needs to be stomped down and stopped ASAP.

Thanks in advance for your support on this.
