1) Shades of US Constitution Article I section 2 [by Anonymous on April 14, 2005]
If Sen. Haugen's amendment becomes law, we will once again be counting some citizens as better that others just as we used to count non-free persons as only 3/5ths as much as a free person excluding Indians not taxed. Now we are going to count those living outside a city as worth 1 1/4 the value of those miserable souls who chose (or are forced to) to live in an incorporated city.

Fortunately this will not be an issue in King County since Ron "Tax to the Max" Sims will see to it that the county grabs all the available revenue leaving the cities with nothing, just as they have now.

2) Tent City [by Anonymous on April 14, 2005]
If Sen. Haugen's amendment becomes law, will each city that hosts a tent city be allowed to charge the household tax for each tent? If the tenthold moves four times per year will each one have to pay four times (plus the one for the county?) Presumably King County will only be allowed to charge their tax once per year.

Does the tax have to be pro-rated if the tenthold only exists for three months in a city?

3) Homeless residences [by Anonymous on April 14, 2005]
If Sen. Haugen's amendment becomes law, I want to hear the screams when King County has to pay Seattle for "housing" all the homeless that are registered to vote in the elections office at the King County Courthouse. I wonder if that will be considered one household so the county will only have to pay one tax?
